FAQs

Answers to some of our most frequently asked questions are below.

How do I join?
Come to a meeting as a guest. At the end of the meeting ask the membership secretary for an application form.

How many times can I be a guest before I have to join?
You are welcome to turn up as a guest as often as you like, at no charge. The team will welcome you and tell you anything you need to know. You may be asked to say a few words (all guests are), but other than that you don't have to say anything.

How much does it cost?
Guests are free. If you want to join, it's £30 for six months, plus £20 joining fee which covers your membership pack with speech manuals, etc.

When can I start making speeches?
As soon as you have joined the club as a full member, you can start booking yourself in for speeches and other roles. Just contact the VicePresident – Education at the end of the meeting.

What if I need help with my first speech?
New members can be assigned a mentor to personally advise them for as long as they need it. Read more about the mentoring program or contact the VP Education. Remember that, first and foremost, Berkeley Square Speakers is about learning in a fun environment – this means the club will always be there to assist you.
